Choosing a pushchair for your baby

Getting out of the house is so important but worth the effort if you can. Make life easier with buying a good pushchair travel system. With so many choices, styles, terminology, brands and prices to try to understand, it can be quite difficult at times. - Some pushchairs can be quite wide so check the widths especially if you live in an area with narrow pavements

- Look for designs that are easy to fold up especially if you can fold them up or assemble them with one hand

- Consider storage when not in use (spare corner, under the stairs etc)

Travel systems:

Suitable from day one and generally has a carrier with it that can be lifted out and put into the car. An all in one unit that can be quite bulky but has everything you will need for when you and baby are out and about.

Strollers:

Very practical and generally can compact up to not take up much space at all, ideal for a day our or a weekend away. If you use public transport to get around, this is for you.

3 Wheelers:

Make sure you have plenty of boot space for these before you buy one. If you generally carry a lot with you when you are out with baby, these are the best units to buy as they usually have lots of pockets and storage around them. Great for rough terrain and bumpy environments.

Doubles:

Some are suitable from birth (check). They come in such a variety of sizes, colours and styles, some of them are side by side, others are one in front of the other. Look for styles that have seats for different ages in the same buggy
